The Power of a Second Chance

13 years ago, I was expelled from high school about 3 months into my senior year. I was disappointed that I had let my grandmother down… she worked so hard to get me to control my anger.

In 2008, I met Ted James at Istrouma during my junior year. Ted James took on my case and helped me get a second chance…. Not sure how different my life would be if not for him…

I never lost focus and promised my grandmother and Ted that I would make them proud. That next year, I graduated high school with Honors, joined the Army, and subsequently enrolled in college.

Today, I’m currently attending College of William and Mary as a full time MBA student.

I believe in Second Chances and I’m grateful for the one I received, a praying grandmother, and a desire to never ever… give up.

November 3rd, is a day I’ll always celebrate. A day that my life started over and I couldn’t be more grateful.

All my Love,

Ericka <3
