A Decade in Review…
I barely graduated high school.
I took the ACT six times and my highest score was a 16.
I didn't receive any acceptance letters from any colleges or universities.
I enlisted in the Army.
I was homeless.
I took my first flight to Basic Combat Training.
I enrolled at a Community College.
I co-authored a chapter in a book as a Ronald McNair Scholar.
I presented my undergraduate research at several conferences.
I finished my Bachelor's Degree at LSU.
I was commissioned in the Army as an Ordnance Officer.
I served my country in Kuwait, Syria, and Korea.
I have been dumped or ghosted more than a handful of times.
I was told, " you are going to make it as an Officer because you are too nice."
I completed my Master of Science Degree at LSU.
I am a Captain in the United States Army.
As this decade comes to a close, I am appreciative of my adversity and failures because they fueled my faith.
I don't know what the future holds but, I know the one who holds my future. <3
Here's to the next decade of life!
